Ways to land your dream job fast

In this tough economic times, landing your dream job is not easy. You have to be a cut above the rest. If you are merely good, obedient and reliable, it will be sometime before you can get any job, leave alone your dream job. Here are a few ways to land your dream job fast.

How to get your dream job

Market yourself as an indispensable force

345676uthretrAs you make your CV, market yourself as the type of an employee that an organization will be scared to lose. Organizations are tired of employing individuals who cannot make head or tail of what the organization should do next. They are looking for self-driven employees who can carry the entire organization on their shoulders. Therefore, if you are a marketer, be a marketer who can lead. If you are a salesperson, be willing to take risks to make a human connection. Be a passionate change maker. Overall, be that one person who can bring an organization together and make a huge difference. That is the way to be indispensable.

Do not be a map follower or a manual reader, be an innovator

Do not ask me how to show that you are not a conformist but a reformist. It will show in the way you apply for your job, the way you write your CV and the way you respond to questions in the interview. Initially, an employee needed to go to work, follow simple instructions, read several manuals, follow well-drawn maps and take notes to make his or her daily bread. This no longer works today. Businesses that employed such individuals are either struggling to stand on their feet today, or they have long closed shop. The modern business environment needs original thinkers. It needs provocateurs. It needs people who care. That would be you.

Do not be that replaceable cog in a machine

This point emphasizes on being indispensable. As you describe yourself, make it clear that you are not looking for a job where you will follow simple instructions and go home in the evening. Make it clear that you will not be that fearful employee that is worried of being replaced because of failure to adapt to the fast-changing times. We grew up in a world where businesses employed cheap laborers that followed specific instructions. That no longer works in the modern cutthroat world of business. Every organization is looking for an individual it can count on to come up with pragmatic solutions to its problems. Therefore, market yourself as an artist, a person who will carve the way to success in the organization. A person who will come up with new ways of solving a problem. A person who can make new connections.456yujjghgetw

Stick to your passion

Follow your passion, not money. Let money look for you at work. Don’t look for it. Therefore, apply only for the jobs that you have the passion for. You cannot be an original thinker if you do something you don’t like. Neither can you be an innovator in a field that you have no passion for. Indeed, if you demonstrate that you have a strong passion for your dream job, you will most likely get it whatever the circumstances.…

They also make it seem like career planning is just for people who are performing professional service courses when in fact the activity is useful for every person who is working or hopes to work in the future. In this case, working encompasses even the athletes who need to do something to get a salary. Thus, career planning is for everyone. Here are the practical tips for successful career planning.

Dedicate a specific time in the year

You need to account for the previous period as you make plans for the next. An annual career review would be the best thing to have for your career planning. You could have an outlook of the next five years and the following year, while also reviewing developments that took place last year and over the previous five years. Doing this activity every year will give you a fair progress chart of your career.

Include reflection time in the planning

Once you have an annual career planning activity, spare a day or two for reflecting on past performance and future aspirations. Try to place the reflection period in between the review and planning stages of your career schedule activity.

Do an audit of skills

You need to look beyond your current job and instead look at your skills and their market value. Remember that you might have skills that are capable of generating high market value when natured appropriately. Such capabilities include entrepreneurship. Thus, while you evaluate your skills, have a category that shows their potential value and their current value. The present value will show you the level of returns you are currently getting for a particular skill. The skills audit can help you shift your job and organization focus to find something that will be most rewarding in your case.45465yrte

Always consider your values

In professional circles, human resource manager considers the employee’s personal-job fit to motivate them. The personal-job fit is a reflection of how much a person’s values align with the organization’s tradition and strategy as well as working environment. Essentially, you need to be working at a job that you love. You may not find the job easy and fun, but if the people working with you and the environment at work help you to meet your objectives, then you would likely cherish the job compared to other opportunities. Thus, you need to be considering personal values and possibly rank them so that you know what to focus on when picking a job or changing employers.
