BOARD MEMBERS
Scott MacLean, President and Treasurer
Scott has been a member of the board for 8 years, the last three as President. He currently serves as The Director of Finance for Teknion Furniture Systems which is a leading manufacturer of office furniture. Prior to this, Scott worked for Ford Motor company in Detroit and Texas. His education includes a MBA from York and an Engineering Degree in Geophysics.
Zena Lord is an ISIS graduate and has worked in social services for over twenty five years, with various marginalized populations. She has facilitated art based groups in schools, and community settings. Zena is a spoken word artist, a musician, and humorist. She is currently at Humber College in the Comedy Performance program.
Dale Thompson is a recent graduate of ISIS Canada and a practicing visual artist. He is a painter by choice and a daydreamer by trade. His work deals with nature, politics, and instability, and has been exhibited in Toronto as well as internationally. He is part of the AWOL Collective, which has hosted exhibitions and produced annual projects that have established the collective as leaders in the promotion of emerging and mid-career artists/curators in the GTA. Dale is looking forward to furthering his education in the field of Expressive arts.
Karin Farkashidy joins the Board of ISIS as a new member for 2006/07. She has a background in arts administration and worked in the public gallery sector as a curator and collections manager for 9 years at the Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery in Owen Sound.
She is the first manager of the new "Centre for the Arts" at Bloorview Kids Rehab, Canada's largest rehabilitation centre for children, which houses the integrated art/garden/play programs Spiral Garden and Cosmic Bird Feeder.
A graduate of the University of Toronto with a specialty in Modern Languages and Fine Art History, she has also trained as a dancer and visual artist and is a White Belt NIA instructor.
With an interest in the impact of the arts on health care, she is looking forward to developing the connection between ISIS and the Centre for the Arts at Bloorview as well as learning more about the field of expressive art therapy.
