employee hiring process

Ways to Improve Your Hiring Process

One of the best ways to make your business or firm grows is by hiring the best professionals in your field. While you would want to use a watertight hiring process, sometimes that is not what you end up getting. It could be somewhere you did not get it right. That is why this post is dedicated to ways to improve your hiring process.

Have a hiring team

It is not just enough to have the human resource manager as the only interviewing force. You need a modern Outplacement and career transition team that together will be able to ask questions and find the best candidate. With a hiring team, you will be able to bring diversity and thoroughly interview the candidate. You will hardly get anything wrong with such a foolproof strategy.

Get it right with your job description

hiring of employeesIf you are looking to end up with the best candidates for the job, you have to get it right with job descriptions. This is like the summary of what you need an employee for. Potential candidates will be able to go through the description and measure themselves up against what you want. In the application process, you will be guaranteed to get candidates who at least meet 90% of what you are looking for. This is a strategy to cut out a big chunk of candidates who do not meet your requirements.

Tailor your questions to the job at hand

Most hiring managers think that they are smart when they ask “magical” questions. What they do not know is that they are deviating from the matter at hand. Instead of going around the subject, you should ask direct questions. The questions should capture the job at hand. They should help you identify if the candidate can do the job or not. This is the reason why you called for the interview and not to show how smart you are
with asking questions.

Social media should be in the foreground

The right employees have their expectations too. One thing they will obviously have on their list of expectations is your tech “savviness”. Social media will be a test they will be fronting to see if they are at the right place working for your company. You should champion for not only social media but also other contemporary digital technologies. If you want to get the very best of talent, you should embrace new technologies.

Allow the candidates to interview you too

In most job interviews, it is only the interviewer who gets to ask questions. This is becoming outdated, and you will never get the best employees. It is time you allow the interviewees to ask you questions. This will prove to you how conversant they are with not only your company but the kind of job you have for them. This criterion will get you the best talents in your niche.

Your company deserves the very best talent to grow. The kind of employees you are looking for is out there. You only have to improve your hiring process, and you will have them.…

What is Expressive Arts Therapy?

Expressive Arts Therapy (EXA) is a way of using the arts to help people with a variety of challenges; whether they be psychological, emotional, behavioural, or associated with life traumas, relationships or transitions. By engaging in play and the arts, we are taken into the world of the imagination, where possibilities can be seen that are not evident in our daily lives. Instead of focusing on deficiencies and dwelling on problems, the EXA approach is resource-based and solution-focused. …More
